The Â鶹´«Ã½AV Alumni Association is planning a reunion of all members of the Â鶹´«Ã½AV Athletic Hall of Fame and Athletic Coaches Hall of Fame! We hope you will join in the celebration during the 2014 Hall of Fame Dinner on Friday, October 3. We will recognize all Hall of Famers during the dinner program.
This year, the 1960-61 basketball team, Richard Fugleberg, Ross Johnson, Travis Lindgren, and Lindsey (Eliason) McMenamy will be inducted into the Â鶹´«Ã½AV Athletic Hall of Fame. Rod MacDonald, Fabian Shoults, Curtis Strand, and Paul Twenge will each be inducted into the Athletic Coaches Hall of Fame during the dinner. We hope you’ll join us in recognizing these renowned Mayville State alumni.
Members of the 1960-61 basketball team were Gil Herbel, Ray Herbel, Gene Anderson, Don Ostenson, Larry Wold, Doug Eiken, Dale Keena, Doug Halcrow (d), Vern Spitzer, Ross Julson, Don McIntyre, Vern Wegge, Duane Morris (d), and Grady Rostberg. The team was coached by the late Al Meyer.
The Hall of Fame Dinner is just one of the many activities planned as part of Mayville State’s annual homecoming festivities, which will be extra-special this year as we mark the University’s 125th anniversary. Highlights will include a meet and greet at Mayville State’s newly opened Edson and Margaret Larson Alumni and Leadership Center, a 125thÌýAnniversary Homecoming Dance, the CometFest celebration, a performance by a 125thÌýAnniversary Reunion Choir, and the recognition of this year’s inductees into the Performing Arts Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame Dinner begins at 6:00 p.m. Friday, October 3, and will be held in the Â鶹´«Ã½AV Campus Center Luckasen Room. Tickets sell for $20 each. or send a check to Â鶹´«Ã½AV Foundation, 330 Third Street NE, Mayville, NDÌý 58257. RSVP deadline isÌýMonday, September 22. A pre-dinner social will take place from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. in the Larson Alumni Center, and following the dinner, you’ll have an opportunity to gather with alumni and friends at the Top Hat in downtown Mayville. You won’t want to miss it!
