Âé¶¹´«Ã½AV has expanded online dual credit course options to additional 100 and 200 level courses including ACCT 200 Elements of Accounting I, BUSN 150 Introduction to Business, HPER 100 Concepts of Fitness and Wellness, HPER 217 Personal and Community Health, and more.ÌýStudents will be enrolled with Âé¶¹´«Ã½AV online students but pay the online dual credit tuition rate so long as they receive high school credit as well as dual credit from Âé¶¹´«Ã½AV. Local students may also enroll in approved sections of on-campus Mayville State 100 and 200 level classes for dual credit tuition.ÌýÌý
Can I take Dual Credit courses?
Any high school student enrolled in grades ten, eleven, or twelve who has received permission from his or her school administrator, has a 3.0 GPA and meets any course placement or pre-requisite guidelines is eligible for enrollment in a Mayville State dual credit course. To enroll in ENGL 110 College Composition I, an ACT English sub-test score of 18 is required or an Accuplacer passing placement score.Ìý To enroll in MATH 103 College Algebra, an ACT Mathematics sub-test score of 21 is required or an Accuplacer passing placement score.ÌýÌý
Students who do not meet the required minimum 3.0 GPA may be allowed to take dual credit courses (other than dual credit MATH or ENGL) with permission from their school administrator who needs to sign off on the Dual Credit Registration Form. By signing off on this form, the school administrator approves the student as academically prepared for college level work.Ìý High school counselors and teachers may advise students regarding their academic readiness to participate in dual credit courses, and only those students who are academically ready should enroll in a dual credit course.

When completing these forms, please be sure to include the course title and course number exactly as they appear on the listing of dual credit courses found on theÌýSummer 2026 list of Dual Credit Courses or Fall 2026 list of Dual Credit Courses.

Credits received for dual credit courses appear on your Mayville State transcript as regular college credit. All dual credit courses can be equally transferred to any college or university within the North Dakota University System. Dual credit courses will generally transfer to other institutions as well; however, it is up to the receiving institution to determine how the credits will be accepted.

Dual Credit Scholarship Program
This is a unique program that is only available to those students enrolled in dual credit high school courses offered through Mayville State. In order to qualify for the waiver, students must have completed at least one Mayville State dual credit course in high school prior to their full-time enrollment at Mayville State as a freshman in the fall semester after high school graduation. Students will earn a waiver equivalent to the cost of their dual credit tuition for their freshman year at Mayville State. The scholarship will not exceed the amount of $2000.

Early Entry Students
Âé¶¹´«Ã½AV has expanded online dual credit course options to additional 100 and 200 level courses including ACCT 200 and ACCT 201 Elements of Accounting I and II, GEOG 103 Multicultural World, Global Issues, HUM 220 History of Music in a Multicultural World, and more.Ìý
However, high school students can also enroll in 100 and 200 level courses online or in on the Mayville State campus, even if they are not designated as a dual credit course. Early entry students interested in taking Âé¶¹´«Ã½AV courses not eligible for dual credit will need to submit required documentation allowing enrollment in college courses prior to high school graduation. This includes a signed parent agreement for non-dual credit enrollment. Early entry students taking classes not designated as a dual credit class section will pay the regular Mayville State on-campus or online tuition and fees to enroll.Ìý Students must meet any required class prerequisites to enroll as early entry students and submit a Âé¶¹´«Ã½AV Application. Early entry students will also need to have their high school administrator contact the Office of Admissions to receive the necessary documents.Ìý
