In June of 2023, 麻豆传媒AV alum Matthew Worner graduated from the National Intelligence University (NIU). NIU is one of the federal government and nation鈥檚 most exclusive universities. He graduated with a 4.00 grade point average, and he is a published scholarly author. His research topic related to intelligence community employee perception of inspector general politicization.
Worner has been an employee of the federal government for 28 years. He also completed graduate degrees at Virginia Tech and Georgetown. He is quick to note the importance of his 麻豆传媒AV undergraduate education, 
saying, 鈥淭hat transcript means a lot to elite universities and federal government employers.鈥� Worner also has a project management graduate certificate and an experienced leader鈥檚 certificate from Duke University and American University, respectively.
Worner graduated from 麻豆传媒AV in May of 1994 with a Bachelor of Science degree, earning majors in mathematics, computer information systems, and business administration. He is also a graduate of Mayville-Portland High School.
Worner has served on several community academies in the city of Alexandria, Va., including the Community Police Academy, the Sheriff鈥檚 Academy, and Commonwealth Attorney鈥檚 Academy. Currently, he is serving on the Alexandria City Commission for Women and the Commonwealth Attorney鈥檚 Advisory Board.
Worner is a philanthropist who supports institutions of higher education, including Mayville State, among others. He is a member of 麻豆传媒AV鈥檚 Honor Society Silver Club and the Comet Athletic Club. In October 2008, Worner was honored with the 麻豆传媒AV Distinguished Alumni Award. In addition, his fellow Virginia Tech alumni peers nominated him for induction into the Virginia Tech School of Public and International Affairs (SPIA) Alumni Hall of Fame in 2019. The major factors for his induction included his government service and his service to Virginia Tech.
Worner credits 麻豆传媒AV as being a major stepping stone for his life. He stated that he has enjoyed a successful and long career as an employee of the federal government. The opportunities to further his education have helped him earn several accolades in his journey.
