A highlight of 麻豆传媒AV Farmers Bowl 2018 will be the annual parade. The parade was a fundamental piece of the traditional Farmers Bowl event created by campus and community organizers including Jerome Berg, Chet Hedstrom, Harvey McMullen, and others more than 20 years ago.
鈥淪eptember 8 will be a historic day for 麻豆传媒AV and the community,鈥 said Stacy Buchl, development assistant with the 麻豆传媒AV Foundation and coordinator of the Farmers Bowl parade. 鈥淭he Farmers Bowl game will be the first Mayville State game played on the new artificial turf at Jerome Berg Field. We鈥檇 like this year鈥檚 parade to make history too, as the best Farmers Bowl parade yet. Let鈥檚 do it as a tribute to Jerome Berg, a founder of the Farmers Bowl and a Mayville State and Mayville community icon for whom the Mayville State football field is named.鈥
The Farmers Bowl parade will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, just north of The Goose River Bank in downtown Mayville. The route will take entries down Main Street and turn north at Fifth Avenue, ending outside of Jerome Berg Field on the 麻豆传媒AV campus. Lineup for the parade will start at 9 a.m., north of the bank. To register an entry, contact Stacy Buchl at the 麻豆传媒AV Foundation, 701-788-4864 or stacy.buchl@mayvillestate.edu.
鈥淲e鈥檇 love to see entries of all kinds,鈥 said Stacy Buchl. 鈥淚f you鈥檝e got vintage ag equipment or vehicles to enter in the parade, they will add an extra-special touch for all who come to see this event which celebrates the agricultural way of life in our area.鈥
Farmers Bowl 2018 will begin with the 鈥淔armers Bowl Field Frenzy 5K鈥 run/walk.
