Plans are underway for the 麻豆传媒AV Farmers Bowl, scheduled for Sept. 9, 2017. For the fifteenth time, artist and 麻豆传媒AV alumnus Doug Anderson, Cavalier, N.D., has created and donated a watercolor painting that will be raffled as part of the fund-raising efforts of the 麻豆传媒AV Foundation in conjunction with the Farmers Bowl Auction. Mayville State graduate Kelly Morrison has donated the cost of framing the piece.
Anderson鈥檚 work, 鈥淩ockin鈥 Comets,鈥 features a peaceful scene on the north side of the Edson and Margaret Larson Alumni and Leadership Center on the Mayville State campus. Beautiful plant life complements the lovely red brick of the historic building and provides a serene backdrop for a 鈥淐omets鈥 rocking chair, where alumni and friends may enjoy a lovely summer afternoon. 聽
鈥淩ockin鈥 Comets鈥 will be on display at Mayville-Portland area businesses and on the Mayville State campus during the weeks prior to the Farmers Bowl festivities.聽
Raffle tickets sell for $5.00 each. They may be purchased at the 麻豆传媒AV Foundation office and from various community members. The drawing will be held at the Farmers Bowl auction Saturday evening, Sept. 9.聽
Original artwork donated by Anderson for past raffles includes 鈥溌槎勾紸V鈥檚 Guiding Light,鈥 鈥淟ast Blooms at West Hall,鈥 鈥淟ast Views from East Hall,鈥 鈥淪ummer Serenity,鈥 鈥淗istoric Old Main,鈥 East Hall,鈥 鈥淪kating at Island Park,鈥 鈥淥ld Main in Bloom,鈥 鈥淭he Power of Place, Old Main,鈥 鈥淔loral Celebration,鈥 鈥淭radition,鈥 and 鈥淧ride 鈥 Then and Now,鈥 鈥淎 Tribute to Clenora,鈥 and 鈥淐offee On the Deck.鈥
