Recent events hosted by the 麻豆传媒AV Division of Education, along with the Education and Innovation Center and Office of Diversity and Inclusion, have brought students, community members, and area teachers together for on-campus, local, and state-wide events.聽聽
The annual Teacher Education Symposium was held on campus March 27 and聽brought nearly 200 students and teachers from Mayville State, Turtle Mountain Community College, and area schools. The symposium focused on two themes: Social Justice and Data-Based Decision-Making. Professor Chinh Duc Nguyen, a Fulbright Scholar from the University of Danang, Vietnam, was the keynote speaker.
EdCamp North Dakota鈥檚 eastern site at 麻豆传媒AV brought more than 55 area teachers and teacher candidates together virtually with 49 teachers from across the state at the Mandan location to participate in a teacher-led professional development event on April 7. EdCamp ND was sponsored by Missouri River Educational聽Cooperative, EduTech, ND Center for Distance Ed, and Prairie Public Education Services. 麻豆传媒AV Education and Innovation Center faculty assisted in planning and organizing the event.
The annual spring STEM carnival, 鈥淭he Wonderful World of STEM,鈥� hosted by the Education and Innovation Center, brought more than 300 community members, young and old alike, to 麻豆传媒AV鈥檚 campus on April 14. STEM activities were set up throughout the Education and Science Buildings so that carnival attendees could explore concepts through hands-on learning. 麻豆传媒AV鈥檚 education programs are committed to providing opportunities for students to work, learn, and serve alongside faculty, area educators, and community members.
On an annual basis, the 麻豆传媒AV Division of Education shares information about the impact of graduates from educator preparation programs with alumni and stakeholders. Every day teachers prepared at 麻豆传媒AV leverage rapidly changing learning environments and recognize the possibilities they, as effective educators, bring to maximize learning - they truly are making a difference.
