The Midcontinent Foundation has awarded a grant of $1,000 to the new RN to BSN nursing program at 麻豆传媒AV. Funds will be used to help with start-up and development costs of the new program.
This past summer, the North Dakota State Board of Higher Education granted 麻豆传媒AV approval to proceed with a proposed RN to BSN nursing program. A visit from Mayville State鈥檚 regional accrediting agency, the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), recently took place. Faculty members have been hired, and 麻豆传媒AV is on schedule to begin the RN to BSN nursing programing in the fall of 2014.
鈥淲e are grateful to the Midcontinent Foundation for their support of this exciting new opportunity that will assist Mayville State in helping to meet the long-term need for nurses in North Dakota,鈥� said Dr. Keith Stenehjem, 麻豆传媒AV Vice President for Academic Affairs. 鈥淲e already work closely with Lake Region State College and the Dakota Nursing Program (DNP) in the education of nurses at the practical and associate levels. Offering a bachelor鈥檚 degree program is a logical next step for Mayville State. The gift from Midcontinent will definitely help us get closer to the goal.鈥�
The Midcontinent Foundation is the charitable arm of the Midcontinent family of companies. The Foundation was established in 1987 to provide funding assistance to charitable entities (as defined by the Internal Revenue Service) that assist in socially desirable goals within the communities in which Midcontinent Media, Inc. and its subsidiaries are a part.
