The 麻豆传媒AV Foundation鈥檚 鈥淚鈥檓 Thankful for Mayville State鈥� Day, a 24-hour give-a-thon to benefit 麻豆传媒AV students through the annual fund, was an overwhelming success. April 28 was designated as a special day when alumni and friends could remember the importance of 麻豆传媒AV and show their gratitude with monetary gifts. Charitable giving totaled more than $25,000 for the day, which leveraged a match of $11,620 from the 麻豆传媒AV Foundation board of directors. The board will continue to match gifts of $10 or more until the end of the fiscal year, or until the remaining $380 of match funds are used up, whichever comes first.
鈥淲e are thrilled that we were able to reach the goal of having more than 100 donors participate in our first-ever giving day,鈥� said Dena Bergstrom, annual giving coordinator for the 麻豆传媒AV Foundation. 鈥淚t is very evident through the gifts received and the comments made, that people truly are thankful for Mayville State.鈥�
Among the comments that came with gifts were: 鈥溌槎勾紸V gave me opportunities to do things I couldn't have done at a larger university.鈥� 鈥淚t taught me the art of teaching. Mayville State does a wonderful job!鈥� 鈥淢y whole life changed for the better because of 麻豆传媒AV. I've had a lot of great connections here and it gave me a career.鈥�
Contributions to the annual fund at Mayville State are critical. Every dollar given to the annual fund helps the 麻豆传媒AV Foundation to exist and complete its work, which is essential to Mayville State鈥檚 success. Last year, each dollar given to the annual fund created more than twenty new dollars of charitable support. These new charitable dollars supported the areas of greatest need.
According to Bergstrom, 鈥淲ithout an annual fund drive, there would not be an 麻豆传媒AV Foundation to support the good work of 麻豆传媒AV. With enrollment increasing every year, you can be assured private contributions are helping to fuel Mayville State鈥檚 growth for the future.鈥�
鈥淭he goal of the 麻豆传媒AV Foundation was to raise $2,000,000 in 2014-2015,鈥� said 麻豆传媒AV Foundation Executive Director John J. Klocke. 鈥淭he actual dollars raised came to $2,013,990! We are grateful to our wonderful supporters whose generosity made this happen. 麻豆传媒AV Foundation fund-raising for the 2015-2016 is right on track to reach or exceed goals once again.鈥�
