Â鶹´«Ã½AV won an at-large bid to participate in the 22nd Annual State Farm-NAIA Division II Women's Basketball National Tournament scheduled for March 6-12 in Sioux City, Iowa. This is the first time in Mayville State history that a women's basketball team will compete in a national tournament. With a 20-win season, multiple victories over nationally ranked opponents, and six weeks ranked in the top 25 national poll, the Comets built an impressive résumé. They enter the tournament with a 20-5 record.

The tournament will be held at the Tyson Events Center. A field of 32 teams, 21 automatic qualifiers from NAIA affiliated conferences and independents, plus 22 at-large selections, will be competing in the tournament. The comets will play Northwestern (Iowa) in the first round of the tournament Wednesday, March 6. Game time is 1:45 p.m.

Come out and wish the Comets well as they head for Sioux City! There will be a send-off social from 11:45 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. Monday, March 4 at the Lewy Lee Fieldhouse. Visit with the team and coaches and enjoy light refreshments. The Comets will board the bus and leave for Sioux City at 1:15 p.m.
